I have 3 children and every single one of them have or do pick their nose down to my 10 month old son who just started doing this recently. To them it is a feel good measure. It is comfort and makes them feel in control. I know it is disgusting and embarrassing for that matter. Continue to let your daughter know it is not appropriate behavior. Also tell her if she continues there will be consequences to her behavior but if she stops then she will get rewarded. Unfortunately this is something we as parents don't always know how to stop and it is not something any pediatrician can tell you that will defiantly work with your daughter.

I also have a 3 year old daughter that was picking her nose and it is so gross!!! Everytime I see her picking her nose, I tell her no, that is yucky and I tell her that it is dirty. My daughter dosent like being dirty so this is pretty effective. I would say just don't give up, keep telling her no, that it is yucky and dirty and hopefully she will stop.

I don't know I've been telling mine (4 years old now) since she was 3 not to pick her nose and eat it because it's yucky, dirty, nbody likes to see her doing it. I've pulled her fingers away from her nose. I've done everything mentioned but nothing has worked. So if you find the answer please let me know.

When you find the answer let me know, but right now the best we can do is when we see this "mining activity" remove their finger or fingers from said position (nose) and tell them not to do this, it's not acceptable behaviour.

Keep telling her not to, eventually she'll stop. Or give her something (like candy or something like that) every time she blows her nose instead of picking it.

come on, let her pick her nose. It is a God given right. Plus, it cleanses the air passages. Good for breathing. Let her eat it.

Pull her hand away and tell her "No, that's yucky". If she does it again, then go over and pull her hand away and slap her wrist.
