I've read that painting the kitchen a blue shade is a no-no because it decreases the appetite, or whatever. I'm thinking of painting it a blue-gray color, with white trim and cabinetry. What is your opinion of painting it blue?

There are different types of blue so for me it will depend on which tone to use for a kitchen. Also it depends the color of your cabinets. I think white cabinets or a light color will be beautiful with blue. I say go for it! Click links below to see photos. Good Luck.

I painted my the doors on my kitchen cabinets in blue and silver and the rest of the room white. I certainly don't think it decreases my appetite a bit. In fact, it makes the kitchen bright and cheery and a fun place to cook.

My very first apartment had blue kitchen cabinets, and I hated them! They were not decorative tho, just plain old paint . I think
with the white trim they would be very nice. And if that is what you
want then do it. It can always be changed if you don't like it.

The combination of grey blue and white sounds very attractive. Corningware used those colours for their cookware and it was very popular. I like green and orange in the kitchen best. It's very cheerful

well its true that some colors create certain feelings in people like red and yellow make u hungry (mcdonalds)...but dont see anything wrong in painting ur kitchen some kind of blue...and if it does suppress the appitite then maybe thats a good think...its not like ur going to go off ur food totally.(burger king has blue in their logo) i still eat it

I think a muted shade of blue would provide for a very peaceful, relaxing place to be.
