Dogs die when their heart stops. If they are dying of 'old age' or an illness rather than by unnatural cause, they will often hide and den down. They will avoid being near other animals, including people. They become withdrawn and often start panting heavily because of the struggle to stay alive or from the pain.
They don't walk up to their owners and friends and make amends. They don't say goodbye to their backyard, to their toys, to their parents.
As uneuphemistic as it is, they often just curl up and die.

We usually call in the immediate family and tie up loose ends, any bones we may have not dug up yet.Then we scout for vacant lots we want to get thrown in after our demise

im pretty sure they die natturally like humans, by old age. there organs will quit working.
