The McRib is a promotional item.
They do the same thing Disney does with it's movies. "Buy this movie before it goes back into the Disney vault!" They leave it there a couple of years so people will be asking for it and when the frenzy peaks, they sell them hand over fist. McRib is here now, but will be gone again soon. Take heart! It will be back. Make sure you call or email McDonald's and tell them how much you love it and need it. It really does help.
If it was available all the time...you'd get burnt out.
This way it's a treat.

Depending upon where you're at... The McRib is a seasonal item where the restaurant will rotate it through the menu. In Northern California, the McRib makes its appearance around spring.

They say it's the McRib's farewell tour. They've been wanting to get rid of it for a while. I, actually, think this is a ploy to sell more McRibs, because when they're out tons of people buy 'em. I don't think we'll see the last of the ol' McRib.

my husband and i just had one of those today. haven't had one for years. i thought they only had these at limited times. today you could buy the mcrib meal with fries and a drink and get a second mcrib for only one dollar....what a great tasting change.
don't know whether these will last too much longer probably just a holiday special.....eat them while you can.
