What about Africans?

Last night I saw a show that had Jay z visiting Africa to see how poor life is there. When I watched I learned what true poverty is. The illegals reasoning behind thinking they are above the law is because they come from an improvised nation looking for a better life. Why is it that when I meet an immigrant from Africa they are here legally trying to become a citizen.

Oh yes and they can speak English.

Africans like many other countries would love to come here LEGALLY! But there is no room for them when the greedy cheaters illegally cross our southern border with President Bush's blessing!

It's WRONG! Many an intelligent person is turned away. Because of the 3rd world illiterate illegal aliens crossing our southern border illegally that we are receiving.

People as dumb as you make me sort of frustrated, Americans are getting lower and lower education every day. The only reason that this is the way it is, is because Mexico is right next door, while Africa is on the other side of the continent. It would be MUCH harder to cross the ocean illegaly than to do it legally. Since Mexico's geographic location is different, it is totally the opposite thing. YOU, racist whore, need to study about illegal immigration into Spain FROM Africa. When you do that, come back and try to debate something with a point.

Good point, but most of illegals are visa overstays. That said, the vast majority of illegals still come from Mexico or other countries south of the border, followed by Asian countries. Countries in Africa represent a small portion of our illegal population. And it is much harder for them to come, since our immigration policy favors getting families already here reunited with loved ones overseas, and the vast majority of those "already here" are Latin American. Not to mention the cost of getting over here for someone so poor. Alot of Rwandans, even fleeing genocide, still took the time to get visas to get out of the country.

Because Africans have a big obstacle called an OCEAN to cross in order to get to the United States. Plus Africa was brutalized by European Imperialism, so many Africans know speak European languages because of the traces of that epidemic.

The plight of the mass majority of black Africans is
horrendous.Nothing compares to it,the starvation,the diseases,the oppression by corrupt governments is unparalleled any where else in the world.
Yes compared to parts of Africa ,there is no poverty in Mexico.And the poverty we see here in the US is a life of luxury in parts of Africa

They probably truly want a better life and are willing to do what it takes (learn English) to accomplish their goals. If someone were to move to say, Italy, you would have to learn their language and customs, you wouldn't expect the Italians to conform to yours, just because you are foreign. Too many illegals today think we should conform to them, and we have. Downtown USA looks like Mexico. I went to Miami and no one spoke English. That's we are though, a melting pot. I'm all for people coming to make a better life for themselves, that's what the US does. Just do it legally, and pay taxes to use the US's government services... I'm ranting, let me stop.

THAT IS A GOOD POINT THEY COME HERE ON STUDENT VISA'S AND THEN JUST OUTSTAY THEIR VISA. ALLOT OF THEM ARE HERE ILLEGALLY. OR BETTER SAID THEY ARRIVED LEGALLY THEN OUTSTAYED THEIR LEGAL WELCOME. I would much rather give assylum to those poor people than amnesty to the border jumpers. Atleast they'd appreciate it and be proud to become citizens instead of demanding at every turn and disrupting this country.
