I'm a singer and cheerleader. I scream and sing 24/7 all the time. Now, I've learned to control it. Now the talent show is 2 weeks away, and I want to sing. But my voice is like a raspy hoarsey voice a little bit. What can help it. By the way I am going to stop talking for the next 2 weeks. Not one word. Will my voice get better? Also, I'm the girl that worries alot, so please don't say anything that'll scare me about my voice, or anything. PLEASE! I'll worry.

What can I do, so my voice will be cured?
Please! Help! Also please answer these two questions:
1) What can I do for my throat to be better when I sing?
2) Will my voice get better (I'm going to stop talking and going to start relaxing my voice?

Thanks to those who answer intelligently in advance!!!!!!!!

I've heard that some singers like to drink hot tea - chamomile helps to calm and soothe. Good luck!

well for one not talking for 2 weeks might not make a lot of a difference but it could make some. Also as weird as this sounds go buy some of the original bazooka (spelling!) bubble gum and chew it A LOT! I know this sounds weird but I am a singer as well and my chorus teacher taught us that trick. It works really well actually and who doesn't like gum? also some things for throats is like moonshine/vodka and peppermint or peach brandy or southern comfort. but I don't know how you are about alcohol. you don't drink a lot just a tea spoon.

you can drink plenty of tea w/ lemon and honey that will help soothe your throat. Also if it is cold where you are wear a scarf to protect you. you should not sing or scream- that will make it worse

Try to limit your talking and drink warm chamomile tea with honey and lemon.

I think it is right to rest your voice. That is all you can do. also. it might help to suck on something like a coughdrop or life saver
