We are visiting New York for a conference at the Javits center and staying at the Crowne Plaza Times Square. We are driving into New York City.
What are the options for Parking? Crowne Plaza charges US$39/day for parking (ouch!). Are there any cheaper (and safe) alternatives?

There is tons of street parking over by the Javits Center - it is not a very populated area!

When the Javits Center has events going (which is pretty much all the time), street parking fills up quick. I reserved a space for the New York Comic Con from their website and it worked out great.

Javits Center Parking is conveniently located on the west side of Hudson river. It is accessible from various trains, bus stops and there are lot of parking lots nearby. You can easily park your vehicles at 670 W 43rd St and enjoy the javits convention center. Park Right provide indoor parking garage service secure and safe. If you are going on a Sunday, then FYI..municipal meter parking are not in effect. I would suggest parking a few streets/avenue away and walk over. You can always park somewhere else and cab over to the Javitz Center.
Just don't forget to read the parking signs carefully.

There are numerous 24 hr. parking garages in the area. The further from Broadway the lower the cost. Considering the convenience & security, the Crown Plaza's deal doesn't seem that bad.
