The left can say what they want BUT if we mention race we are racist if we mention Islam we are anti muslim, if we complain about benefit scroungers we are selfish.

Freedom of speech is for all. I haven't seen any evidence that genuine debate is suppressed - especially here!
You can mention race, Islam and benefit scroungers but what are your views about these issues? Do they make no sense? Do you say hateful things? If so you can expect a strong reaction. In the UK you can say a lot of things but you can expect a strong debate. Regarding your topics I would say: People who receive benefits legitimately are not scroungers. Those who do so fraudulently are. As an atheist who would prefer that the UK was a secular country I would say that Islam is one of the world's major religions and that Muslims, like all other human beings are a mixture of good, bad and indifferent. Regarding race I am in favour of racial equality and again I find that people from all races are a mixture of good and bad. Don't forget some of the worst crimes in history (including the holocaust) have been done in the name of racism.

Give the right enough rope and maybe they'll just hang themselves. There is no such thing as a benefit scrounger, only the poor, dispossessed and unemployed. There is a difference between mentioning something and actually slating something or someone. Ooo aren't you an opinionated one. Walk a mile in someone elses' shoes is what they say. You should be entitled to freedom of speech and your own opinion, yeah but how can you judge on what you don't know. ve

it is...to an extent. it's the same with the right wing. no matter what there is always going to be a rift between the left and the right. the left doesn't always get away with what we say. we mention abortion we're baby killers, we mention legalisation of marijuana we're drug addicts, we mention gay rights we're homosexual. it's the same either way, so the best way to deal with it is to just suck it up and try to see things from both sides.
