Yes it is ok to rinse your mouth. The whitening process was during the 30 minutes when you had the strip on.

The whitening happens while the strip is left on. So, once it's off, they assume that you're going to eat, drink, rinse etc. You'll still get the expected benefits if you follow the directions and then rinse.

I can't answer the part about the pain, but I can tell you that my sister uses them, and she claims that they work. So the whitening strips do work. Beyond that, I can't tell you whether or not they are good in terms of age, etc. The back of the box should tell you if there are age restrictions. There are none that I'm aware of, but the back of the whitening strips should tell you if there is an age restriction.

I rinsed out with water after i used mine beacuse the gel on the strips contains bleach (was drying my lips and making a mess) and I hated the taste.
My teeth are sparkly white...

When I used them I didn't rinse my mouth out instead I just wiped them off, but as I did that I sorta massaged the gel more into my teeth and then wiped the excess off. My teeth are so pretty now, I love those strips!!!!!

I have used Crest's whitestrips in the past, and I ALWAYS wash my mouth out. It doesn't affect the whitening at all, and I have been very pleased with the effects of the strips.
Hope this helps...

No, in fact I reccomend it. The active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, which will continue to oxidize any tissue it comes into contact with [including your lips and inside of your mouth until it is completely satiated or until you eliminate it. Rinsing with water is best.

After you've worn the strip for the allotted amount of time, you remove it and brush your teeth again to clean out your mouth, you don't want to swallow alot of the cleaners.

I don't belief that using them on a regular basis is good for your tooth enamel. It weakens you enamel which is there for a reason. perfectly white teeth are also a sign of poor health. The older you get the more they will age like the rest of your body.
