I see them in the streets all day long. They lower the quality and standards of America. Why do people keep saying they come here because they're starving? I saw video footage of them hopping the border on the news and they all looked overly "healthy" to me. So, I guess the camera really does add 10 pounds??

Well I think they should be attempting to come here legally, that said who can blame them they're looking for a better quality of life. Now I think the fence is a ridiculous waste of time and money, I think the big question that I never hear answered at least to my satisfaction is why aren't we enforcing the laws on the books, and why aren't we starting with the businesses that employ illegals? Would we need a fence if we made sure the business community knew we weren't going to tolerate them hiring illegals and lowering the wages of American workers? Instead of a fence I think we should spend the money on increased enforcement STARTING at the business level, if they don't have jobs to come here for then they'll stop, if they have skills Americans value and need then let them use the proper channels to get here, it's a slap in the face to the ones that do come here legally, Oh and so you know I'm a liberal tried & true dyed in blue Great Society Democrat but I believe we have laws and they should be enforced but start at the top of the heap because there is where the biggest supporters of the Illegals are at the hiring level, you hire Illegal you're breaking the law PUNISH it and they lose the incentive to hire them problem mostly solved............ because we all know there will always be people looking for a way to work around it it's part of the human condition that some people just have to cheat

Illegal immigrants inspire mixed feelings from people for a variety of reasons. Personally, I too am uncertain exactly how I feel about them. The majority are incredibly hard working people who, like it or not, are a definitely support for our economy. If they all upped and left tomorrow we'd probably plunge into a deep recession and/or depression.
That said, I don't think they ought to be entitled to the vast majority of government privilages that citizens and legal aliens are. Public school should not be free for their children. Nor should non-essential emergency room care. Tuition at public universities should be priced at "out-of-state" levels (I think there's actually a case against the University of California about this).
I don't want to sound like i'm being harsh. I dont' believe we ought to close our borders and all that cr*p. I just think if we pay for it, and they don't, they ought not to get a share of the pie.

All of the jobs you just described are the very same jobs that many legal Americans have done in the past. They were done by college kids trying to make a few bucks and under educated people that couldn't find a better job. Those people are also looking for a better life for themselves and their family's.
The jobs that are being done by illegal aliens would once again be done by the same people that did them before.
There are many people that need jobs that don't have the education or skills to get any better jobs so they will work doing anything ,just like the illegal will.We have here in the USA an under class of legal people that need to work and they will and do take the so called jobs that Americans wont do.Of course the employer would have to pay the legal person a livable wage as he should.

You know, I don't mind if they come here to work.
But I do mind when they bring their families. They overcrowd our cities, they don't speak English or care to. They do use up our tax based services and in the end well beyond what the contribute, they do take jobs from some Americans. They wouldn't be tolerated except for the fact that some wealthier Americans who don't have to live around them like to use them for junk labor.
These same Americans would have nothing to do with these people if they had to pay them the same as an American who would do the work. America wake up. There are no free lunches. You cheat today, you pay tommorrow.
Yes there are fine things about the illegals (mostly Mexican) but there are many more intolerable things and things that screw up America for most average Americans.
One way or the other we, as Americans are going to pay. I'd rather have higher prices than to tolerate illegality by crimiinally oriented folks (they are this way out of desperatness and ignorance and because all most know is the Mexican Way ...which is mostly criminal.) reproducing at alarming rates and filling our prisons, hospitals and general public places to the degradation of the American infrastructure and the quality of life for the rest of us. Plus, Americans who work hard and deserve better from their government to protect them from such devastation by paying taxes, get to pay for all the services the illegals cannot or do not want to pay for, and also we get to live with the experience of petty crime due to illegals not wanting to obey the law. Our laws.
It's unacceptable and unfair to America. It must be stopped.

No matter how you look at it illegals are law breakers. Breaking the law to support a family in Mexico is still breaking the law.
America has become the richest country in the world long before we had this flood of illegals.
The question Mexicans should be asking themselves is why did America become so rich while Mexico, that has all the natural resources that we have, remained super poor, except for the politicians.

They break the law, knowing full well they are breaking the law. They burden this country, threaten our sovereignty, lower the standard U.S. wage, shut down our hospitals.
They are criminals, and must be deported. We have legal ways to enter the U.S., if the waiting line is to long perhaps the need to rally against the Mexican government, instead of mine.

Illegal aliens are not the only people who struggle and you have decided on what jobs Americans will or will not do. Try asking any teenager who wants extra money they've did every job you listed people would not do and they still are doing them.Americans are working in every job you listed above. Illegal aliens do not process special qualities that make them above any other race on earth.I've seen them asking for money they are not exempt from doing this. They do it Mexico every day and they do it here every day.

Why should illegal aliens sneak into the country uninvited and steal our social services and American Id's.
The cut in line of ALL legal immigrants who are playing by the rules and obeying the laws.
Why should they be granted anything for being illegal and breaking every law available! Why should Americans have to pay for them???
Americans in NO Way REWARD illegal aliens for ILLEGAL behavior!

I think they should go home. Let's be honest- if they're so hard-working, wouldn't that benefit their own countries to get people like that back? I mean, to hear them tell it, without them, we'd be "nothing", right? So, why not kill 2 birds with one stone- go back home and build your countries into First World powers, just like the US, and in the process, watch us "gringos" collapse into Third World mediocrity like Latin America!
