My dogs (as in 2, more than one) have too many toys as it is. They always have rawhide bones AND there's two of them!!! I'm not stupid and put the medicine in his face. It's on a table. I've had animals, including puppies, my whole life and all we ever had to do was pop them with a newspaper. As for praising them and catching him in the act i do. When I come home, and they behaved i ask for hugs and pet them and give them treats.

I don't shoot my dogs, it's called be frustrated with no other options that i can think of. Nothing has gone down my dogs throat because of me. Him getting on the table isn't my fault. I don't shove him on the table and go "eat the pills".

try putting meds in the cabinets and markers and stuff like that in a drawer. as for the gifts, keep them in a room with a closed door. everything should be at least 3 feet off the ground, and no where near the edge of a table. if they are chewing furnature, get apple-bitter (or bitter-apple, i can never remember). or crate them when you arent home.

no smacking or yelling or shoving things down their throat, thats just mean. when you catch them in the act, say no firmly and loudly but with no excitment in your voice, take the object away from them and give them a toy instead, when they take the toy say good. its something you have to do over and over and over.

It's good to get the additional information, thank you.

Having the toys and chewies around is good. Do the distraction technique when you are home and see them doing something wrong.
When you are gone, crate your puppies, in separate crates. It is the best thing for them and for you.
Because they are young they need consistency, so keep praising them when they do something good or drop the bad thing and do the right thing.
Have patience. Remember they are still babies.
If you get to the point where you feel you can't handle the stress and may become violent then please call an animal rescue group for help or consider surrendering the puppies. I know that you don't want to do that, but it is better than hurting them.

Enroll in 2 classes. Puppy kindergarten and obedience. They will help you and the pups.

Good luck!

Are you adding on to this question? : http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061128121724AANEQae&r=w#NbUvWzS9WTBPnBAnBzK5

If so, you are violating the yahoo rules by doing it here.

If I remember correctly, you are the one who thinks that beating rodeo animals isn't abuse. You are the one who thinks that when animals are cut open by spurs in a rodeo, that's not bad. You are the one who thinks that animals buck with a strap across their privates because it feels good. You honestly have little concept of abuse.

You are abusing your dog by shoving things down its throat. You are abusing your dog by hitting it. You are abusing your dog by shoving it outside or into a crate because of YOUR errors. YOU leave these items out in places where YOU know he can reach them. YOU know that he chews. YOU get mad at him for YOUR errors. YOU are the one who said YOU wanted to shoot him. YOU need some anger management classes, some ethics classes, and to give your dogs up. YOU are not a good home for a pet.

If your question was "How do I solve this?" , then my answer is "By giving your dogs away." No dog deserves to be hit, have things shoved down his throat as punishment, or to be shot.

If you have had puppies your whole life you would know you MUST crate. I figured that out real fast with my first.

So....basically you are trying to justify "popping" your dogs with a newspaper.

I still say people like you should not have pets.
