I've been having diarrhea for the last 48 hours. Very often at the beginning. I don't really see any blood in my stool, but sometimes it can be very thin (watery) which feels like I'm taking a piss with my butthole sometimes. I just took some Anti-Diarrhea pills and eating plain steamed white rice. I also realize i have to drink a lot of water so I can replace the body water that I'm losing. I don't have any stomach pain anymore but it makes noises sometimes. What else should I do? It's really pain in the butt that I can't get a good night sleep. Please help, folks.

I don't know if you've been using the antidiarrheal for all 3 days but sometimes it's better to let these things run their course and allow your body to rid itself of whatever the irritation is. If you prefer to use an antidiarrheal, I hope it's loperamide (Imodium). The noises you hear are likely borborygmos. It's coming from your intestines, not your stomach. It's the sound of hyperperistalsis. Continue with the fluids, and use the BRAT diet - Bread, Rice, Applesauce and Tea. Advance your diet to regular foods when your stools have become semisolid or more formed for 24 hours. If your stools continue to be watery for another 2 days see your doctor.

Avoid dairy products and drink something that will help you replace lost electrolytes from the diarrhea like gator aid or pedialyte and don't start eating normally until you've gone 12 hours or more with no diarrhea stools. I hope that you feel better. Also you can get some energy by drinking sodas with sugar and juice but would stay away from acidic ones like orange juice.

Don't eat anything more. Just drink water for the next 24 hours. When you get hungry eat some bananas. No milk or any product like that. Rest and plenty of fluids.

Eat lots of dairy foods such as creme cakes, and other sugary deserts. It tricks the body, because the body is not expecting to recieve that kind of food and the diarrhea clears up, trust me it works.

Its what the doctor told me when I went years ago.

You probably had some digestive tract bacteria........you should see a doctor, otherwise, it should clear up by itself.
