Tinnitus seems to be the hardest health condition for any type of treatment - personally I have never had any success - having said that herbal treatment with Ginkgo biloba or accupuncture seem to have some success.

I have had it together with vertigo for 30 years and nothing has helped. my tinnitus is quite loud and I have it 24/7. the only thing is that I do not notice it that much when I'm concentrating on the TV. Sound at night does nothing but take your mind off it,but it is just another noise to worry about and does not go down well if you have a partner.
If your problem is like mine and you have a problem with balance as well, I have found that after so many years my eyes have taken over from my ears so I can't get up in the dark and walk to the loo. I have sorted this problem by using a moon light ( this is a soft green light that you plug into the wall.) This allows me to go without falling over.

I have heard that sometimes people put the radio in between stations to where you hear static and that some how dulls out the sound of the ringing. There are also medications you could take.
