when there are bits and pieces of THOUSANDS of scripture that were never even used.? There may be truths within it, but how can people think it's the 'literal word' it's been reprogrammed and re-done and explained in horrible ways for thousands of years. I believe in god, but no religion.

The thousands of scripture that weren't used were rejected because they were not consistent with the gospel message that had been preached by the apostles and their successors. The Canon was established to stop this proliferation of false teachings.

The bible has not been reprogrammed and re-done. The Dead Sea Scrolls proved that the old testement we have today matches the writing used by Jews at the time of Christ. And the new testement is the single most cross referenced book in history. To change something in it you would have to find all the existing bibles and change them, then find all the secular works that reference the section you changed and revise them to.

The bible has not been changed, we have proof.

I encourage you to investigate this issue further. I think you will find the evidence you seek in order to believe.

The bible was inspired by God. It is stories of peoples personal spiritual journeys and relationships with Him.
Mathematicians claim that the original writings in Hebrew are a map with history and future encoded in it.

Unfortunately its the literal loonies that give religious people a bad name. The bible was not meant to be taken literally. Its not a history, geology, or an astronomy book. It was meant for one thing. To teach a lesson on how to live life...nothin more nothin less.

What about God do you believe? You have a problem with people rather than God? Religion is also overlooking human shortcomings. Jesus says if you want him to overlook yours you will want to try to overlook your neighbors. I realize this is hard but, with the grace of God through the sacraments it is possible. Doesn't he say "all things are possible with God?"
