Sura 5:33 Their punishment is...execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from the opposite sides, or exile from the land
Sura 9:29 "Fight those who believe not in God nor the last day . . . Nor acknowledge the religion of truth, (even if they are) of the people of the Book, until they pay Jizya (tribute taxes) with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued"

no sir it does not.
some people take verses out of context to try to "prove" their point but with the slightest effort all their attempts are dismissed.
there are verses that talk about battles the Muslims were fighting at the time when the Muslim minority was oppressed by the pagan majority.
at first the Muslims didn't have clear orders from God to fight back to defend themselves then the verses were revealed to the Prophet. just guidelines from God telling Muslims how to fight back with justice and no transgression.

I think that it would be wiser not to talk about such things. Familiarity, tends to stifle the conscience.

Not always. Sometimes it says to repeatedly burn the skin off of them, or cut off their hands.
If you read 2 or 3 chapters, just randomly flipping through it, you should be able to find an example.
