The error is caused from missing files. If asks you for the location of the media then put the disk in and direct it to the disk. When it is done it should open any of the applications you are trying to open. If that doesn't work then I would uninstall what was installed originally and then reinstall it as others have suggested.

Applications that are installed using Windows Installer files (MSI) have the ability to self repair. So they check to make sure that the source file is available when they start up. It seems that your is not and teh application is trying to restore a missing or corrupted file. If your Office install in on CD the place it in the drive. Go to Add or Remove Programs and select MS Office to do a repair of the application.

Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and find MS Office. Uninstall it, restart your computer and reinstall.
