We believe he is alive and will return to Earth in the final days when during the time of the AntiChrist (Dajjal). He will lead the Muslims against the anti Christ and kill him, and establish Islam as the religion of the world.
In case you didn't know, we don't consider him to be God, just a Prophet.

Islam believes that Jesus was not a prophet but a messenger sent with a message, and because the message got corrupted god sent another messenger muhammed. Islam does believe that Jesus will come down on the last day but not to lay the way for the people but to test the people, and those who pass will be shaded by gods grace

Nope not on last day , he will come after the arrival of Imam Mehdi at the time when Imam medhi would be fighting with Anti-christ . and after killing Anti christ he will live a normal human life, he will get married and will live for 40 or 60 years and then he will die. He will come as a 'Ummati' of Muhammad (pbuh) just to make it clear that muhammad was the last prophet and Jesus(pbuh) has preceded him.

Muslims believe that Jesus was a true Prophet of God.
But I think you are confusing this story with the Rapture the Christians believe in.

we believe that Jesus Christ the son of Mary is indeed the Messiah.
we also believe that he is alive in heaven and will return one day by God's permission to unite the believers and fight the Anti Christ and bring peace to the world, he will live for 40 years and die naturally.
Jesus Christ (pbuh) is our Messiah and every single Muslims awaits his return.
peace.

Yes. You seem to be right.
But he won't open the door to the Heaven. His main mission will be to kill Anti-Christ, and bring back peace. He will also bring down the "Cross", kill all the pigs, and abolish Jizyah tax. He will prove that the doctrine of Christianity was false (as he died and was son of God)
and he will establish Muslim empire by ruling under Islamic laws.
It is also proven that Imam Mahdi, will emerge before Jesus (pbuh) arrives. Both of them will work together to destroy Dajjal (Anti-Christ) and his system.
This will definitely happen before the end of the time. And we are getting close to it day by day.

Prophet Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon both of them) will come to earth, live for seven years, fight and kill the anti-Christ, then die naturally aged 40. It will not be "in the last day" as you stated. Judgment Day will not happen in one day, it will take years of many signs showing us that it is coming.
These are our beliefs.

Allah or Jesus?
By Rick Mathes
Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths who explained their belief systems. I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say.
The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam complete with a video. After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn I directed my question to the Imam and asked: Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world. And, that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?"
There was no disagreement with my statements and without hesitation he replied, "Non-believers!"
I responded, So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can go to heaven. Is that correct? The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He sheepishly replied, Yes.
I then stated, Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Pat Robertson or Dr. Stanley ordering Protestants to do the same in order to go to heaven! The Imam was speechless.
I continued, I also have problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me. Let me ask you a question-would you rather have your Allah who tells you to kill me in order to go to heaven or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and wants you to be with me? You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame.
Chuck Colson once told me something that has sustained me these 20 years of prison ministry. He said to me, Rick, remember that the truth will prevail. And it will!

The Holy Quran : Chapter: 2 (Al-Baqarah), Verse:254
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2:254] These messengers have We exalted some of them above others; among them there are those to whom Allah spoke; and some of them He exalted in degrees of rank. And We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs and strengthened him with the spirit of holiness. And if Allah had so willed, those that came after them would not have fought with one another after clear Signs had come to them; but they did disagree. Of them were some who believed, and of them were some who disbelieved. And if Allah had so willed, they would not have fought with one another; but Allah does what He desires.
Hope that helps and see you soon
