For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21). God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of “all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses” (Joshua 6). In Judges 21, He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife! Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church!

In total God kills 371,186 people directly, not including the Noachian flood story, and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered. These totals are just from the hand full of stories they felt it was ok to put in the bible, remember it has been translated and most assuredly edited many times.

Yes, God is good, God is love and God is HOLY.
Since God is not a human (God the Father is in no way a human) this would be akin to saying that the Judge who sentenced the child rapist to the chair is not good, unfair, etc.

What is good and evil? Are you good?
According to your rant, you have judged God for murder. But let me ask you, if God created humanity doesn't He have the right to destroy humanity? And also, were not these people killed in justice?
The bible also says that no one is good (Romans 3:12). Every single person who ever lived deserves to die. God could wipe out the entire human race and be justified. If everyone is bad, why should God let anyone live?
You are trying to judge God according to your standards of what you percieve is good. Are you capable of making such a judgement? Can you see all things? Have you seen the heart of these people? Have you seen their entire lives?
Now, let me ask you, if you were married and your wife cheated on you with another man, what would you do?
The Israelites were comparable to God's wife. He had chosen them to be His people. And so, if you are not an Israelite, then you are not one of His. If you don't belong to God, then you are an enemy of God. There is no middle ground here. Either a person is a friend of God or an enemy. No person can be a stranger to God. He knows all things. You are either His friend or enemy.
If you bow down and worship a false God, then you are cheating on God. You are attacking God. In justice, God responds with death. And what of those people who attacked the Israelites? If you attack God's people, He will defend them. If someone came up and started attacking your friend, would you sit back and do nothing?
The point of the old testament is to demonstrate that God is not just good, He is Holy. He is sacred. He is supreme. You can't just go around worshipping any God and expect that God won't care. Rather, God will bring justice. He will do what is right.
God, in the old testament, brought justice to the people. He proclaimed "an eye for an eye" because that is what justice is. If someone steals from you, it is only fair that they have to lose equal to what you have lost.
In the new testament, we discover that God's justice was satisfied. Jesus died to pay the debt of justice, and offer forgiveness. Forgiveness is not free. God doesn't just say, "Oh, sure, you can get away with that." In order for God to be fair, He must bring justice. God must provide "an eye for an eye." And so, Jesus died to pay the debt. The death of Jesus was the punishment for our evil. Jesus died to fulfill the law and to bring justice. We can be forgiven only because Jesus died.
Forgiveness, however, is something that must be accepted. If I were to hit you, you could not forgive me until I say, "I am sorry. I made a mistake." Otherwise, you would say, "I forgive you" and I would say, "For what, I did nothing wrong." As long as I think I did nothing wrong, I cannot be forgiven.
If anyone is to be forgiven and have a right relationship with God, they must first realize that they have screwed up big time. We all have sinned against God. No one is good. Not you or me.

The Old Testament recounts a much more violent time, a time when God was trying to do more micro-managing, the people were illiterate, the only thing they understood was death, killing, and violence.
God did destroy areas where there was no one following him. The prophets were not perfect, King David sure was not, that is why God sent his son, Jesus to bring redemption to ALL people of the earth and a new commandment, to love thy neighbor as I have loved you and as you love yourself.
Works for me!
Peace

NO! How dare you even ask?! If it weren't for God you would be dead, not even created! God is loving all the time, never is filled with hate or any horrible things, God is perfect, we're the ones who made up all the bad things this world has. God knows his plans, he can see all our "timelines" besides life is a time that god gave us because he wanted us to share the word of God and wants everybody to know about how they can go to heaven. You better study the bible better cuz you obviously are judging god horribly, yet he still loves, you. how can you speak about these thing when you don't even know about it?? I say if you havent studied the bible which you obviously havent then you shouldnt be telling other people about stuff if its not true!!!!!!

o believe me NO ONE here is innocent. We are lucky that God gives us each breath every day. we have sinned so much that we deserved to be killed. all those people might have not done something wrong in the Bible, but believe me they sinned A LOT before that. Consider urself lucky to be alive.

The definition of "God kills" in the sense you are using it is "God welcomes people into their eternal glory". Therefore God is good for welcoming thousands into their eternal glory. You are just looking at it all wrong. God doesn't "kill" in the way you think.

I believe that there is no greater evil in the world today than the christian idea and mythology of god. It disgusts me. Christianity violates my personal principles of goodness, compassion, empathy and love in every possible way. Even if they had undeniable evidence, I would want nothing to do with them or their immature, violent, angry, small minded, bloodthirsty god.

Goodness stays alone. God is not goodness and goodness is not God. They're two entirely different entity. God can be good if you believe he/she is good. But goodness is always good and it can not be anything else but that. I believe in the goodness.
Goodness does not motivate any killing!
