I am considering adopting this dog, but unsure of the origin. the humane society guessed a spitz but i dont think so? hes 6-11 weeks of age in this picture

It sounds weird, but I think it might be a poodle/mix.. All of the Nordic dogs are classified in a general way, as Spitz, such as Pomeranians, Huskies, American Eskimos, etc.. But I would guess is is a terrier of some kind, mixed with poodle,,Seeing relative size would help..if large, perhaps Airedale

My first thought was that there is some kind of poodle in there. After reading the Wheaten answers though that may come a little closer. I am not really seeing the Spitz...did they say how big he was going to be as an adult? Perhaps the vet will have a much better idea. He looks like an intelligent, sweet puppy. Good luck with him.

He's adorable! My guess would be a poodle mix of some sort. Then again he could easily be a bit of many many things! He looks like he'd be a lot of fun to play with and quite possibly a really good snuggler. I wouldn't guess that he's a spitz from the pictures, but who knows. I grew up with a schnauzer/bulldog mix that looked just like Benji, so anything is possible.

That is not a spitz!!
From just the pic I would say terrier but maybe something else in there too.

He does look like a wheaten, but i thought poodle also. Poodles are way more like a man dog than people think. Very hunting dog kind of breed.

The size of the pup is what we can't tell.

That is some kind of Doodle!! Golden, Lab...some kind of doodle mix.
I can see Wheaten also...but they are not that common and I have seen too many Doodles that look like this.
