Mohamad Ali was a follower of Elija Muhammad as was malcom X. What they had to do with each others is while Malcom X was conformed to thier beliefs, he was thier greatest teacher. But Malcom X took a pilgramage to mecca, became a true muslim and started to teach the true religion of islam. Mohamad ali was more than likely one who would learn off the teachings that Malcom X presented. Though were wrong, but highly influential. PEACE!

EDIT: To response to the answer above mine. The Nation of Islam are not muslims. They just follow the quran with heresy. They do not worship allah, but a man named Wali Farad that existed around 1920. They call him allah and that is whom they worship. Just as how christians do the christ. The GOD of abraham(pbuh) is something different.

They were both converts to the Nation is Islam. At one point Muhammad Ali was perhaps the best known person in the world. In his book Malcom X describes going on pilgrimage to Mecca. Whenever he told someone he was American, they would always jump to the conclusion that he was Muhammad Ali.

a million. Mohammed Ali switched over to Islam, and changing one's call is classic in Islam because it shows dedication to the religion. 2. at the beginning, it is "Barack." 2d, his call has continually been Barack Obama. have not you considered his start certificates? it is been on the internet for years now. Why do you purchase into such insane conspiracies? Why do no longer you dig only an inch deeper and comprehend how deceive you have been?

They were both Muslim. Malcolm's faith evolved through the years (falling away from several of Elijah Muhammad's most controversial "teachings"), and Cassius Clay was inspired/influenced to convert by Malcolm X.
