Why would the devil punish those who are evil if he wants them to do bad things? Doesn't it make more sense for the devil to praise those for being an evil as a way to stick it in gods face? All I'm saying is that it doesn't make any sense for the devil to punish those who are evil because then he would just be doing gods job.

The devil isn't praising anyone for doing evil. He is praising himself for every evil thing that people do, what he does is tempt people to do something wrong and evil and when they do it and people keep doing what the devil wants them to do the devil praises himself for getting people to do bad things instead of good. Like you said it doesn't make sense. That's the Devil for you.

I always thought it was because he got off on it. The whole point of the devil tempting us to do evil is to lead us to his domain so that he can torture us for eternity.

You have the wrong view of hell. Hell was prepared for ha satan and his angels (demons), it is the place where he will be confined for all eternity not a place where he will rule and dole out punishment.
