Go to a local restaurant for DRINKS ONLY... If you were going for a full dinner and realized 10 mins in that you dont really like this person... its going to be a few hours of hell just to tolerate them for that long. Good luck

This depends on how old you are and where you live. If you are a teenager than a good first date is a dinner and a movie or a theme park. If you are in your 20's or 30's than a good bet would be a nice dinner show or dinner and dancing. If you are the later and you live near water than maybe a nice cruise around the lake and a picnic lunch or harbor and a late dinner.

movies, dinner, long walk along the beach, or chuck e cheese. it depends on how much money you have or how much fun you want to have. if you're nervous about talking or not being able to keep a conversation up then go to the movies then dinner after it so you can talk about the movie. what you liked about it, what you didnt' like about it, the funniest part of it, etc. that way you can get to know the person slowly. after talkin about the movie start talking about each other's likes and dislikes. favorite color, fave movie, fave food, fave candy, etc. if you wanna just jump straight to the fun and talk and you're hungry then go to chuck e cheese (where a kid can be a kid). i love that place. and if you have no money take a walk or a picnic or something like that cuz it's romantic, you can have deep conversations, make out, and eat food you know you like.

first date is rough. you have to be careful...nothing too cheap, like the nearby Pizza Hut, but you don't want go to Emeril's either. find a nice Italian restaurant with dim to decent lighting, and try not to delve too much into yourself or the other person. a big problem is when a couple-to-be exhausts all the topics about themselves and their likes, and the next date is Awkward City. by the way, the decent lighting is important...if he takes you to a well-lit area, he's goodlooking and knows you are too, but by taking you to a dimly lit area, it's either inferring that he's not too keen on you, or he's not a looker himself. good luck. i'll be around, email me if you'd like more advice.

If you are going on a single date without other friends then I would advice you to go where there people. Go to a coffee shop, movies, bowling, mall, musuem, amusement park, roller rink, pottery classes....anywhere where you would feel comfortable.
But please do not go to his house or to the park alone with him, or in the woods or even to your place. If you don't know this guy, you don't know what he can do.It's better to be safe then sorry.

the best place is decided on your style. if you love the movies, then go there. i think you should go out to dinner to be able to talk out what you have in common, that way the second date isn't so hard to think up.

A walk in a mall. This way you get to see what each other likes in a neutral environment. Have some coffee while you're their too.
