I one time went to a thrift store and had the best Christmas for my family. You don't need to tell them where you bought it. You can also just tell everyone you can only buy for your kids this year. Don't feel badly about it because it happens. Be glad you had enough to buy for your children. We don't have enough to have gas, meaning no hot water/heat etc. Personally, I can't even buy anyone anything and I have 8 grandkids. Be thankful you have something. Christmas isn't about buying things, although the stores would like you to think that. I'm sorry. Maybe you could ask your b/f to help out.

You mentioned he can sing, so why not get him a decent microphone? Or an interface/software for him to be able to record and edit. ProTools interface/software can be pretty cheap nowadays and give him a chance to record and edit himself and anything else he desires. Pro Tools MBox mini allows two mic/line inputs, includes the software and should be around $300 I I'm not mistaken. You could also get someone to get him a microphone to complete the set. Can't go wrong with a Shure SM58, it's industry standard and is only $100 to get him started. Make sure you get balanced mic cables (xlr). Hope whatever you decide goes well!

your son is #1. SO the rest will have to do without your gifts. Explain this year is tight financially and you'll make it up next year! Give cards or home made gifts. Maybe learn to crochet or knit??

Dont' worry about anyone else right now. Your baby is first. I'm sure everyone else will understand. Make your baby happy. Christmas only comes once a year.

Take some of his gifts back. You can always tell his grandparents or something what he wants.
