When you finish installing Windows 98 after you enter your serial number and you install the Operating System it should tell you to enter a password. You do not need to it is optional if you do not put one now ou might not need to later. Depending on how you set it up you might hit enter to log on or it will just log on automatically.

The password is something you make on you own. You can leave it blank. However since this is Windows 98 your account information isn't totaly safe and secure.

The password can easily be bypass by hitting ESC key or typing in a new user name. If you want to secure it you need a program. However I do not know the program because I am the only one that uses the computer.

If you are looking for password sugesstions do what I do, make sentences. It will take a long time for someone to guess:

Example:
Thisisnotapassword
Ihopeyouenjoytyping
