While I'm happy that you are only finding good homes, why were these puppies created in the first place without having them already sold? I'm going to reference you to a few resources that help you pick a good home for the dogs and also teach about breeding. Right now, really the only people to sell to are undereducted consumers inthe newspaper. The last thing this world needs are more backyard breeders and puppy mills, so please, read more about breeding and have your female dog spayed as soon as possible.

First, no responsible breeder I know of will send a pup to a new home during the holidays, unless there are VERY exceptional circumstances. People are simply too busy with parties, family events, etc., to give a new pup the proper care they need in the first weeks they are in a new home. Also, during the holidays, there are often dangerous decorations around that can cause damage to the pup.
Most of all, though, responsible breeders don't want any of their pups to be presents to anyone other than the person they have personally interviewed and checked the references on. In addition, giving a living animal to another person is often giving an unwanted present.
I want to add that you should really charge some fee for your pups. Free pups often end up as bait for idiots who fight pit bulls. Or in labratories, being tested upon. I'm sure you don't want either for your pups. And just because a nice looking 'family' comes to the door for the pups doesn't mean that they aren't looking for bait or to resell the pup to the lab.
You won't know for sure unless you check references, including the vet they intend to use.
Also, if the person can't afford a small fee for a pup, how can they possibly afford future expenses for the dog?
Your best bet is to place a small advertisement in the local paper, requesting references and charging at least $50 per pup. And CHECK the references, having the people come back a second time (AFTER the holidays) to actually pick up the pup. If it is a parent getting a pup for their child, a husband for a wife, etc., you can take a picture of the pup and they can wrap it and place that under the tree.
You could also contact your local animal shelter and rescues of the breed(s) the pups are and ask if they know of people wanting pups.
Good luck, and please spay your female so you aren't in this situation again.

If I were you I would talk to a breeder for advice. Breeders would know where to advertise and maybe even a couple of places that could take a couple of your pups. Please make sure you go to a responsible breeder. I don't think a sign will do much as strangers will probably not want to knock on your door if they have no idea who you are. There are also certain mixes that people breed. ie: Puggle (pug and beagle) schnoodle (schnauzer and poodle) if the two dogs were one of the many "designer" mixes then you should be able to find a breeder that specializes in that mix. To assure that the dogs go to goodhomes (i can see that you care about them) I would only go to a professional.

I would not advertise them on the internet. You need to spread the word among family and friends and make sure they all go to loving homes with people you know. I also agree with the others on here, that giving puppies away at Christmas is not a good idea.

The most important thing is to make sure that they go to good homes. During the holidays many people buy puppies as a gift, but you have to remember that its a living animnal, and will need much time devoted to it, and sometimes the puppy-ness wears off and they end up strays or in shelters. A sign in the yard is fine, but please make sure the future owners are worthy and yes I said worthy of a dog (pet).

NO, NO, NO.
Dogs bought at Christmas are usually impulse purchases, and once the whole exciting I-got-a-puppy-for-Christmas thing wears off, most end up dumped at the shelter.
And NEVER give dogs away for FREE. This is something that people who want puppies to use as bait in dogfights look for. NEVER, I repeat, NEVER give a dog away for free.
I don't agree with you having a Christmas litter to sell, but that is better than just giving them away to any Joe Schmoe.
Idiot.

People think giving a puppy for Christmas is so cute. It is traumatic for the puppy, the excitement, the strangers, the chaos. Can you wait until after Christmas? Chances are you will find them better more stable homes after Christmas and they wont just be a novelty.
You should probably get your dog fixed as well......
