Are there more ticks in the woods than there used to be? I don't remember it being a problem when I was growing up. Now I can't go for a walk without getting one or more ticks on me.

When we have mild winters, the ticks do not get killed off and therefore begin to flourish. Nasty little things.

I recently learned this by reading an article about ticks. Yes, there are more ticks now. Global warming.

Yes!! When we have mild winters there tend to be more ticks around then normal. When the weather is more harsh they tend to die out faster. Thank Goodness. Its just a matter of the weather conditions if there are more ticks or not.

yes and every year they seem to get worse and worse. It's so bad to the point that even going out in your own back yard the ticks are there cause they roam about and therefore any animals you have are most likely to bring them into the home. This summer alone I had pulled off 203 ticks off my dog and fried each and every one of them. I used to throw them in the toilet and flush but that doesn't kill them, burn the little suckers I tell ya burn them.

I really don't know but it does appear so. There is also an increase in Lyme disease being reported.

Ah the old "why were things better when I was young?" question.
It's called dealing with old age.
