The best way to tell is to look at your parents. If their hair is salt and pepper grey, chances are your hair will turn grey too. Also I've noticed people with black or blonde hair will go white.

i think it depends on the start colour intially. for example dark hair will go grey as the pigment fades. However i think by the latter years when their is no pigment left it all goes white.

I believe its because you get to the stage where your hair cant be bothered to decide what colour its going to be, so it just thinks stuff it I'll just stay neutral or white, silver or purple in some bizarre people.

your hair follicles stop produces the pigmentation that colours the hair so as it grows out it either goes grey or white.
