I believe it all depends on the maturity of the person. I dated once in a while all through high school. You just really need to be careful about who you run with because one wrong person and you could completely mess up your life. I think 16 is a good age to start dating but nothing serious. 16 gives you a couple years experience before going to college because that's when you're most likely to find the person you'll end up with...
So I say 16 but nothing serious and take things slow because when you're young things can happen really fast and you could end up regretting things.
I'm 19 and have been living with my boyfriend for about 7 or 8 months and things are great but we've been together for quite a while and we're both very mature and really focused on our futures. So figure out your life alone before you figure out a life with someone else.
I hope this helps!

To be allowed to date, you should be about the age of 18 when you can be mature about dating because dating should be a mature thing, not a tactic to get into bed with a random person just because your hormones are talking. 13, 14, 15 years old of ages are too young and too immature to understand the real purpose of dating. Dating is seen as a game but it really is the process of finding your soulmate if you think about it.

I think it depends on how mature you are-middle school dating really don't count but for like a serious bf/gf situation you gotta be able to handle things. I think 16 is a good age but there are some immature 16 yrs who shouldn't date.

I am a man and if I had a daughter I would say 40. But since I don't have a daughter, 16 is a good age to start dating under restrictive conditions.

I thiank that the appropriate age that a young girl should be allowed to go on a date alone with a boy is sixteen because it is a responsible age where she is able to make valid and important decisions on her own without making any mistakes.

There really is no correct answer. You and your parents should talk about it and figure it out together. Try to remember to keep cool though, because parents are looking for maturity and responsibility in their kids when deciding on whether to allow them to date. Show them you can handle it, and if they say no, do not get angry or sad, just ask them why not, and what you can do to show them that you are ready. Good luck!
