3.1 is good. To break it down for you, look at it this way a 4.0 is the best, it means you've earned an average that equals "A's" in all your classes in that term, a 3.0 and above means "B's", so on and so forth. Basically, the way it works, is an "A" is worth 4 points, a "B" 3 points, a "C" 2 points, and a "D" 1 point. The points earned are added and then averaged to reach your GPA. Hope this helps.

It really all depends on who you're asking to judge it. A GPA ordinarily ranks your scholastic achievement (which has most commonly been scored by someone other than yourself, such as a professor), against others' GPA's. Now that others have helped you understand that a 3.1 usually refers to an above average and/or B, you can judge for yourself, or look into how various college admissions judge a 3.1 GPA.

It's a low B. Still pretty good. You'll need to get it a little bit higher if you want to get some good scholarships.

Its in the range of a B.
Nothing noteworthy, but it means you have a good understanding of the subject.

Based on a 4.0 scale, you have a B average. 4.0 is all A's So it's up to you whether or not you think it's good enough.
