Info on your gorgeous puppy... she will....
will like to chew stuff - give her lots of safe chewy things to keep her off the furniture and your shoes!
will look incredibly cute - so be careful not to let her have her way all the time or she'll turn into a naughty monster! Don't let her beg for food when you are eating and don't let her demand attention from you. Make sure you decide when its her meal time and when you play with her. Also, let her get plenty of sleep to grow!
will have very sharp teeth and will want to nip you because you are soft!! - tell her no and stop playing with her when she does this. She'll soon learn to control the urge.
will be ready to learn lots of clever tricks - start by teaching her sit. you can do this by moving a treat slowly back over her head until she sits to keep her eye on it. Then give her lots of praise and let her have the treat. Labs are clever and learn really quickly so get your self some training books to get ideas on what you want to teach her. She'll be fetching your slippers for you in no time - very handy!!
will get very very excited sometimes - remember that although she is small now she really will grow big and strong and bouncy so set the rules now when it is easy. No jumping up, no leaping on and off sofas.
will need lots of love and cuddles even though she makes mistakes like weeing in the wrong place or chewing your hat! The best way to teach a dog is to ignore it when its naughty and praise it when it is good.
will have lovely golden hair - which will turn all your black clothes that lovely golden colour! To avoid frustration just buy lots of beige clothes and keep your home light too. She won't understand why you yell get away from me when you are wearing a dark colour!!
Have masses of fun with her - she'll tire you out but all the hard work you put in now will pay off when she is grown up and she'll be your loyal friend.

Check out the labrador retriever club of america. I'll post a link. And make sure that you use a respectable breeder or a no-kill rescue group. Also, be aware that there is no "golden" colour in the breed standard. If the dog is being sold to you as a "golden" lab, you may want to reconsider the breeder. Good luck in your search.

I have a labrador mix puppy. The thing I have learned is that labradors love to chew and bite on everything, so let her know what are her toys and what she should not bite. They also eat anything, so be careful with what you leave around the house or in the car, as some candy (chocolate) and fruits (grapes) are toxic to dogs.

What kind of info? If you are looking for puppy training and socialization info, I highly suggest the book Before and After Getting Your Puppy by Ian Dunbar. An easy read with lots of great info.

I have a yellow lab (male) who is 6 years old, and my experience with him is that he can be a bit hyper, but his heart is in the right place. He's very protective over our family. Not all labs come from the same mold...you'll just have to grow with her. It's a good idea for any puppy to have toys of their very own...that way they have good tools to learn not to chew your shoes or furniture. Mine likes to play "tug of war" with a couple of my husband's old holey socks tied together. I never had problems with Dexter chewing on my stuff, but he always had his bones to chew (you can buy bones that have been treated just for puppies just about anywhere....they say not to use rawhide, but I've never had a problem...just take the small pieces away so puppy doesn't choke on them). I've included the website for the American Kennel Club; a good place to find information on any dog.
In short, each dog has their own personality, and if you treat her with kindness and respect, you should expect the same in return.
Good luck with your new puppy!

Labs are very hyper and powerful dogs they need lots of exercise physical and mental. Labs can become overweight very easy so be careful how much they eat. Make sure you socialise your puppy to all things, i.e: kids, other animals, vacuum, cars, loud noises. Most of all praise goes a long way so do patients. Good luck with your new pup!!!!

I have a lab German Shepard mix (she is mostly lab though) and she is the craziest dog ever! It depends on what type of personality your dog is going to have. That is kind of like saying... I'm having a child who is Australian and German, any tips? I would recommend pedigree dog food though.
