If you are fidgety like I am on flights,
take:
- take a computer with extra battery and w/dvd player so you can work, listen to music or watch dvd's
- ipod
- puzzles
- hand held video games
- read
- learn something new before you go and do it on the plane

Who can sleep on planes? I can't!

Sleep
Read
Play on a laptop(if you have one)
Go and sit in the bathroom for an hour then come out with a pained look on your face
Walk up and down the aisle asking random people for their email address, insist that you are not a stalker
Turn the light on and off...but your neighbor's light. not yours.
Call the steward every 7 minutes or so, just to ask her what time it is.
Sing out loud
Mumble under your breath
Take your shoes off and pretend they are airplanes
Start crying, say you have a tummy ache
Ask what kind of water they are serving.
Laugh when no one else laughs at the in-flight movie.

I fly a lot...i've never done these things, but i've thought about it....looots.

I would hope on a flight that long that they would have a movie or two. If not, those portable DVD players are fabulous! Or, you could go another route and try to learn about something that you're interested in, but never had the time. Get a few books on the subject. Imagine how much you could learn with ten uninterrupted hours of study time!

Hey, I suggest you not to sleep for the last 24 hours before fly so you'll enjoy a nice sleep during the flight.

Lots of good answers already--one thing I don't see is books on CD (or from CD to MP3 player). It's a good option. Of course you could always use the resources on hand...and talk to other people on the plane.
