Bittersweet why for this is the world i am in

Definitely a combination. No one has a life that's all roses. But I really have nothing to complain about. My life so far has had ups, downs, and in betweens. Things go wrong, then they get good, loved-ones die, relationships flourish and fail and flourish again. Jobs come and go. Stuff breaks and is then fixed. I think it's how you deal with problematic situations and life difficulties that matters. For those who don't cope well, they might have a more negative view. For an optimist who deals with change well and copes well - life seems a lot more pleasant. I also look at it this way - there's always someone out there who has it worse than you. So every little thing is something to be grateful for. Right now my freezer is dying and I'm losing over $200 worth of food. But that's nothing compared to those people who don't have a freezer or food right now. At least I'm fortunate enough to have a service plan that covers the repair and spoiled food.

Sweet, God has given me much more than I deserve. I have a woman who loves me. God knows why she does. A beautiful home that I didn't have the wherewithal to qualify for. That was God's work too. Children that would make any father swell with pride. A strong boat and a fresh breeze to sail in.. How could life be anything but sweet... Jim

sometimes I think I have lived more than one life time, just here since I was born. When I listen to people I often think and used to say if you would have been there or done that no way would you thionk this. Many I know born lived and about to die withing a 50 mile radius. I know 2 who have never known a person of a different culture not even black of Mexican, and yet they have opinions that for instance when they vote affect many in other cultures. I have heard the drums of war beat b4 and know that everybody would have been better off had never a shot been fired. Heard all the lies and the way they tell them, seen them organize stirr and steal and these who just got here and those who never went anywhere well they fall for this crap. I guess what that makes me is angry cuz even if someone who does know points out exactly when where what and why still they hold on tight to that 50 mile radious, and what the person next door who has also never anything well lets just all agree that the moon is made of cheese. Very very expensive cheese. Pretty much if I am around when they leak the next pentagon papers I know what they will say. So angry but not at myself, cuz I have always done what I could to help.

Just to give an example of what I see many would not believe or even try to stop is this.
It costs us at least 40000 a year to house one prisoner . Most of those prisoners have these things in common. Moved several times when a child, only one parent in the home, usually a minority of whatever population they live in, Yankkee if in the south, southerner if they live north (but not as prevalent, had very little chance to get a good education, victim of something--physical, sexual, emotional, crime, mentally ill, death of a parent, and hardly any of them will have much of an education. It would cost considerably less to save these early in life than to incarcerate them later for even 2 years, yet most will spend far more years than that. And actually this is far less than even the tip of the iceberg, cuz there is a huge ripple effect all around us because of this, just consider that instead of the cost of incarceration this person would be a positive influence which over 90% could have been. Now you are suposed to ask why don't we do something, why is this not common knowledge and I am gonna tell why, it's because the people who know all this are the ones who take home the lions share of the tax dollar spent on these palces of incarceration. Putting people in jail is profitable. Fixing them eventually stops being a source of income.

so i guess what I am is discouraged, not with myself because I helped over 200 of these make a life, and would have done more but in the process of trying to correct the school system which was slowing me down I stopped some others from getting their share and so i was stopped. Its pretty easy to get rid of the guy who is gonna make your property taxes go up for the immediate future. I am discouraged with mankind. Be glad I am not in charge cuz the experiment would be scrapped.

While I have hope for some and for eternity what I see in the immediate future for mankind is not gonna be better. In the 60's we thought we were gonna make it better but we are now here in power and even when I read answers to like todays question about the history of the middle East, I see rampant ignorance and arrogance on the side who is just so wrong, even their religion should tell them they are wrong but they actually think they know better. I guess you put my foot in it on this question, glad I wrote it down
positive side, I have everything I need a little more so I can feel good about giving true friends who are very helpful and all my facultys, and I have this place to vent once in a while which is a little better than journaling because others take me where I otherwise might not go so thank you for that.

If I did not want to push things into a more positive place and was better at accepting then I would have more peace, still in many ways I am peaceful.
Doesn't it seem foolish that some do not like those who are more intelligent than they, do we who think better go around and hurt these less fortunate, perhaps we majke fun of them, or are impatient, whatever the cause we need to stop cuz here in America people wear ignorance as if it were something to be proud of and it was not always like that. My grandparents had a biger vocabulary and math skills than most colege students and they never got past 6th grade. angry a little sad but oh well it will all be over soon the days go very fast now. sorry hungry no checky my work

Sweet, sour, salty, bitter and astringent, every taste has had it's time in my life. I have lived a full life and included all aspects of living in it.
