I got my hair cut about 2 months ago, and the shorter my hair is- the puffier and wavier it gets. The hairdresser put a bunch of layers in it and now I HAVE to straighten my hair with a flat iron every day! I bought a new ceramic flat iron, all these thermal protectants and my hair is sooooo damaged!! I mean, after I straighten it- it looks fine- but when I wash my hair and let it air dry it looks like I put my finger in an electrical socket! What can I do to get my hair back to normal??

Try to use the flat iron every 2-3 days instead of everyday, As long as your hair doesnt get wet , Its should stay straight for 2 days until you want to wash it again.
Try Aussie 3 minute miracle. its very affordable and it helps. I had a perm a few weeks ago and ive used it only twice and i feel the difference in my hair already, its softer and getting back to normal again.

Well your hair will grow back. I don't think you shoudl straighten your hair because by doing that, it is just making the problem worse. I think you should stop straightening your hair everyday. And use an herbal shampoo. A local Indian store will have a great herbal shampoo that will do no harm to your hair what so ever. Before washing your hair, you should put olive oil in your hair and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. It will make it less dry and straighten your hair out naturally. Then go ahead and use the herbal shampoo. And scrub very very gently and use a small amount. Or else your hair and scalp wil get dried out. I have a great site that has great advice and simple home remedies for your hair. And many other things. There is also a forum, so you can just ask questions and people will answer. I hope this helps. And I hope your hair gets better!!

Hair always bounces back hunny. I damaged my hair by bleaching it too much. Here is what you should do. Your hair is waving up because it doesn't have too much weight to weigh it down so it is not as wavy, and it's healthier because all of your dead ends were gone, that's why it waves, wavy hair must be your natural hair. So when i starts to grow out, the weight will straighten your hair out, however, as far as your flat iron. What you need to do is get a deep conditioning treatment.

You will have normal healthy hair again, but until it grows out, (this is what i had to do after massive bleaching) I used Matrix (in the orange bottle) its a sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner. Along with it before and after I dried my hair I used Biosilk hair serum, to help the split ends and frizzies.

If you are still unhappy there is a leave-in wash out product called Ion, which can be purchased at any beauty supply store. The other product I will reccommend to you: Pantene "restoritaves" overnight leave in deep conditioner.

Good luck.

Niki

P.S. It took me about 2 years for my hair to grow out to what it is now. And thats after about 3 years of massive bleach (platinum blonde)

treatment of henna will make your hair come back to it's original condition. or the oil thearpy. Use olive oil about 2-3 table spoon warm it and apply to your scalp. Leave it for half hour and rinse it with good shampoo. It will treat your hair to healthy one and take you to normal texture.

Hey darling, after shower just put on moose(Loreal) to your hair. You should't use that ceramic iron to make your hair flat because every time you use it you really make a serious damage to your hair, so STOP IT.

LOL...That sucks. You'll just have to wait for it to grow out. But condition the heck out of it...and try bio-silk...that should smooth your hair out in the mean time.
