I am going on a brief cruise in 10 days and have lost my driver's licence. I will need an official photo ID (along with my birth certificate) to travel. I do not have a passport. Is there another legitimate photo ID I can replace it with while a new licecens is being applied for?

You should be able to get a state issued ID. They issue them all the time for people who don't drive. Check with the DMV. It's usually a quick process.

Since most cruises are international itineraries (Mexico, Bahamas, Carribbean Islands), you probably need a photo ID and a birth certificate.

Remember after 1/7/07 - you MUST have a passport to do ANY international travel.

Where are you located? If you have your plane ticket in your possession you can take it to the passport state department in your city and they will issue you your passport the same day. I know that New York works that way.

You can get a new drivers licence in just a day. As long as you have all your paperwork with you...it shouldn't take that long.
