I'm dating myself, but here goes: " 'Have Gun Will Travel' reads the card of a man. A knight without armor in a savage land. His fast gun for hire heeds the calling wind. A soldier of fortune is the man called Paladin. Paladin, Paladin where do you roam?"
His first name was never spoken on the show, but we all knew what it was, because it was on his card.

Actually, it's "have gun, will travel beats the heart of a man". Oh man. I can't remember the rest of the song! It has the title of show in it. Paladin? Paragin? Hannigan? Something like that. You've probably heard it in the movie "Stand by Me". The kids sang it in that movie.

old tv western called "have gun WILL travel" (not we'll) featured a hero named "paladin", a term describing a knight errant, out to do justice.
"have gun will travel" was his slogan written on his business/calling card.
have gun will travel reads the card of a man,
not beats the heart of the man....
geez.......... the sheep don't like it, lock the cash box, stop the cat box
