I think it depends on the individual and which ever works for that person. Both can be true for me but sometimes on a temporary bases and sometimes it depends on the situation. It can take work because it also has to do with the strengh within...

it depends on how much you liked them before they left, if you liked them alot then the first statement is true, but if you only had a little crush on them then they will eventually fade out of your memory
