Windows Media Player has been discontinued from Microsoft.
My favorite player for the mac is VLC - (cross-platform media player and streaming server)
VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

as long as you've the QuickTime codec put in, abode windows Media participant and each and every of the others can play it. i take advantage of QuickTime option, which supplies you me the codec, and play with WMP.
