On Friday my ex bf asked my friend what my best friend and I were talking about and my friend didn't know. Why would my ex bf want to know if him and I broke-up.

Did you break up with him or did he break up with you? My ex (who dumped me) was VERY upset when I told him that my life wasn't his business, and how I was doing wasn't any of his concern. He couldn't grasp the concept that since he chose to end the relationship he didn't have the right to ask how I was doing - he still wanted to leave the window open for sex, and to ease his guilty conscience because he really hurt me. If he could still find out how I was doing, then he could make sure I'd "recovered".
On the flip side, a friend of mine has always been the dumper, not the dumpee, and the guys she's dumped CONSTANTLY want to know how she's doing. It's because clearly they liked her (since she was the one who broke things off) and they keep hoping she's realized her mistake and will come back to them.
