Hypothetically, let's say that I woke up one morning and decided that Jesus was, indeed, The Way. Now I have to pick a Church. But I suspect that any Christian that I ask will tell me that their Church is right and all the other's are wrong.

With 1,000's and 1,000's of Churchs and demoninations to choose from - and most of them disagreeing with all the others - how would anybody make a choice?

Read and pray and visit different churches and God will show you wher your purpose is attached to. There is a man or woman of God that God has assigned you to. He will confirn this in your spirit . Make sure you don't just pick a church that's just catered to your sociological needsor you'll be changing churches frequently when they aren't met. Honestly people are people and there is messs in every church. Be faithful and loyal i mention this because over the years iv seen people just like you fall awy because they had the wrong priorites andgot offended in whatever church they went to. Make sure the pastor is teaching kingdom principles not church there is a difference that's why in the Bible it talks about how God is standing on the other side of the door trying to get into the church. And don't just believe what people including a pastor says only if it cannot be backed up the Bible speaks of false teaching in th end i would hate for you to go to church faithfully and work in minisrty and go to hell because you didn't have a real personal relationship with him

I woke up one morning one of those who very much ridiculed the biblethumpers... in less than 4 hrs...in a space of a few moments...I was one of them Biblethumpers.... no man, no priest, nofancy building, no man invented doctrin or dogma.... just God and me....I am now a member of a small congrigatin and we do have a building we call a church... I will not tell you this is the right church for you... I do not know you... I can only tell you that I know God guided me to this congrigation... where he might lead you is for Him to tell you.... that said... there is only One Church and that is The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head.... All who come to God in The Way He proscribes receive His free gift of Salvation and become of The Body of The Church....

I was 53 yrs old when I finaly answered God's call to me... I am now 59...If you have any question about the basics of The True Christian Faith you may email me. 1 honest question receives 1 honest answer to the best of my ability.

The best way is to look into them and decide which one agrees the closest with what you believe. Jews, Muslims and Christians all believe in the same god but they believe different things after that. Muslims don't believe that Jesus was the son of god only a prophet like Mohamed. Catholics believe that the bread and wine you take at church has been changed into the body and blood of Christ but Protestants don't. No idea about Scientology and other such things but you need to look into them and see which one fits best with what you believe.

Most people join a church based on one of three factors

Location, family ties, truth. Biblical truth should be the only reason to join a church. If the church does not teach according to the Bible, keep looking

I grew up Methodist, had my daughters baptized as Methodist and my mother in law insists that we are all still going to hell because we were sprinkled instead of dunked. I have finally come to realize that I don't need religion to believe in God, I worship him everyday the way I want to worship him. I think being in a church doesn't make you any more of a Christian then being in a garage makes you a Cadillac. I am sorry I can't help you with your question.

Easy, I do believe Jesus Christ is the way the truth and Light. We are to go to Bible based church. So many churches teach what they want and do not follow the scripture. I say the only church to go to is one that teaches from the Bible and not their own.

As an apparently non-religious person, you miss out on the fact that a majority of the Christian churches have, at their core, the same beliefs.

do some research. You may be able to research a particular sect and see what its core beliefs are. If you researh a few different Sects, thwen you may find one that appeals to you. Many religions are documaneted online, so you could research there.
Or you could simply shop locally and attend services in various local churches. You may find one that agrees with you that way as well.

Happy Hunting!

dusnt matter which church you go to. If you want to know if its a good church, ask the elder/leader if they believe the only way to get saved is by believing that jesus christ died on the cross for our sins. if s/he says yes then its ok to go to that church.

go to a church you enjoy. personally i enjoy an evangelical church. but no churches are perfect as we'r only human
