You must remember that recieving the Holy Spirit and being Baptized or Filled with the Holy Spirit are 2 different events that took/take place. If they both meant the same thing then why did Jesus breathe on them and told them to receive the Holy Spirit and then command them to wait on the Promise of the Father (Baptism of the Holy Spirit). When one recieve's Christ he is now born again and Spirit of God(Holy Spirit, Jesus) now resides in them. Which means they now have access to the promises of God's Word (means other things as well-but i'm focusing on a point). But, when a person is filled with the Holy Ghost or has been Baptized in the Holy Ghost, the evidence of them being filled is Power. Jesus said in (Acts 1v8), But you shall recieve power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you...

I am pentacostal but I tend to lean toward the Baptists even after reading those scriptures. Maybe He just comes on you in a mightier way through the laying on of hands then He does through just faith. Jesus said we're saved by faith and if you're saved you become a believer and all believers are given the Holy Spirit. That's my reasoning.

Most Christian denominations believe in what you might call " second-work theology", they just call it different things.Baptists call it "making Christ Lord of your life", Wesleyans call it "entire sanctification", Assemblies of God call it "the baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues". Many people in their own particular denomination will say it's not the same thing. That's a debate for another time.

You need to interpret the Bible yourself. I do wish they would lay off people who like a beer and an alocoholic beverage. I think if they loosened up a little with a couple of drinks they would not be cutting down people who enjoy a libation.

i think they say those were people that converted without knowing they receive the spirit at conversion, but it's kinda weak if ya ask me.
i also think some that believe they get the spirit at conversion don't even experience him in reality.
but i find it hard to distinguish a separate time when i received.

Jehovah's Witnesses surely DO believe Jesus to be the Son of God. further, Jehovah's Witnesses comprehend that Jesus is a deity, a god in accordance to the Bible itself. of direction, the Bible teaches that Almighty Jehovah ("God the daddy") has no friends. yet, the bible it appears that evidently mentions different "gods". .. ..(a million Corinthians 8:5) there are those who're referred to as “gods,” no matter if in heaven or on earth Jesus as "a god": (John a million:a million; Isaiah 9:6; John a million:18) Angels as 'gods': (Psalm 80 2:a million) devil as a 'god': (2 Corinthians 4:4) Human judges as "gods": (Psalm 80 2:6-8) No human or angel might want to ever compete with Almighty God, and the bible is sparkling to circumvent that advice. Jehovah is "the single authentic God" contained in the experience that He has no rival. .. ..(Psalm 86:8,10) there is none like you between the gods, O Jehovah... you're God, you on my own. .. ..(Exodus 22:20) human being who sacrifices to any gods yet Jehovah on my own is to be dedicated to destruction. further, purely Jehovah the daddy benefits worshipful "unique devotion". Jesus himself made the point that the daddy benefits a special form of dedicated "sacred service". .. ..(Exodus 20:2,5) i'm Jehovah your God... I Jehovah your God am a God exacting unique devotion .. ..(Matthew 4:10) Jesus suggested to him: “...‘it really is Jehovah your God you ought to worship, and it really is to him on my own you ought to render sacred service.
