Okay this is a great question. Well first of all I think it's great that you are are christian and dating a muslim because most people these days are not accepting. and won't date people of muslim faith. All right. If you are a female and not muslim, then it is okay to marry a muslim man, preferrably you converting to islam before or after marrying him. If he is a christian man and wants to marry a muslim female then it is wrong. He must become muslim before marrying her. So basically, the man ALWAYS has to be muslim in this kind of situation. Don't think that islam is being sexist. The reason for this is said to be beacause the man usually has control of the house. So he can easily not allow his wife to not practice her faith of islam. So he must always be muslim. In your case, you should become muslim, but it is not mandatory. It would be really nice if you did though. there is nothing wrong with islam. all of these politics you hear on the news. people make things sound like islam is a bad thing. it really isn't. if the muslim you are dating is forcing you to become muslim and you really want to stay with him then go ahead. but if you are not that commited to him and dont want to become muslim, then just leave him. I say that just stay with him, and tell him to teach you a little about islam. It is truely a fascinating religion. You will learn a lot. And I hope that God guids you on the right path to become the best! Hope this helped. One last thing, I believe this to be very accurate. I am seeing some other answers...that kind of seem... But if you don't want to go with this its fine. But just try searching it a little on the internet. And if that doesn't satisfy you then try going to the nearest mosque and asking people there. they can be of great help.

Men can marry 'women of the book' -- Jewish or Christian women. The women can choose to keep their religion if they so wish.
However: In Islam, it is the man's right (by blood-line) that his children that come from him be Muslim. Just as the Jewish faith is inherited from the mother.... it is this way.
So if the two of you are very serious, and you see marriage in your future-- talk with him at length and let him know firmly that you want to keep your faith, and speak with him about the children, and ask him any questions you may have.
I have seen people from other faiths verge together and really make their home a happy one.
Communication is the key.

Muslim women must marry Muslims. A Muslim man can marry a ''woman of the book''-------which is a Christian or a Jew. Why? Because in Islam, the religion of the child goes with the father's religion. This way, all the children will be Muslims.

You can only marry her if she follows your faith or vise versa. If you want to earn her parents respect and blessing then convert to Islam or she should convert to your beliefs. However this choice is up to you and her. Allah has given us free will, we can choose to walk away from Allah or draw closer to Him. I suggest you discuss this with her or any other Muslim friend you may have.
The women are not permissible to marry outside of her own faith however looking at this day and age no one is perfect. I mean that if she was a good Muslim she would even be going out with a guy.

I think Koran encourage Interfaith marriage for both women and men alike [5:5] the verse never restricts this right to Muslim men only but the closed mind of Muslim clerics mixed their anti-women traditions with the understand of the verse.
