Why do men/ boys have to take everything as a joke?

like when you say "i love you" whats up with that??

Boys are still boys and men are still boys
Especially the men Some don't want to commit to I Love You.
Don;t know how to say I love you , back
Aren't sure if they feel the same.
Have patience . if he does love you, he will tell you.

"I love you", is not a joke, and I don't think i've ever taken it that way. However, pretty much everything else in the world can and should be laughed at. So laugh at every opportunity, it makes you healthier.
