I Corinthians 7:5
"Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
Paul said it all.

The religions I know where fasting is required you give up anything physical endearment,,,, food, water, and sex. The purpose of fasting is to be closer to God, and to feel grateful for the things that you do have in your life once the fast is over.
Once you are done fasting- there is a differant kind of quality to everything you touch, everything you put in your mouth, ect... it's an amazing feeling. Most Christians I know never fast. I guess it differs from sects or religion to religion.

If you are fasting for spiritual renewal, to become closer to God in an act of denying physical satisfaction, then sex during such a fast is not appropriate.

It depends on what you are fasting. Typically you want to give up something that is important to you so that it will be a good offering. Food is the typical thing. But you can fast whatever you feel is most important. Or perhaps God is leading you to sacrifice a certain thing. (maybe sex)

Wait until the fast is over to have sex. Sex brings our spiritual vibration down.

It's up to you. Personally, I think that the idea of a spiritual fast -- or any fast, for that matter, is silly. There are better ways to become closer; the most important is to talk to each other -- about anything, and everything. Nothing should be out of bounds.

The Bible says not to deny each other sex, except it be with consent from both of you, and that is to be only for a little time. In other words, whatever you both agree upon to be reasonably acceptable, that's how long it should last.

You're married, so if you want to have sex then do it. The Bible says that the marriage bed is sacred. Nowhere in the Bible does it say you have to give up food or sex to be closer to God, it's only a choice. Just do what you think to be right. God won't be mad.
