Yes it does. It also bothers me that people are killed because they have something someone else wants (oil, money, property). Alot more modern wars have been raged because of those things than because of religion.... Jim

People find all kind of reasons to kill each other. Look at Stalin and Mao they rack up more kills then just about anyone neither was religious, both were in fact atheists. Doesn't mean atheists are killers.
If it wasn't one thing it would be another.

yes, it bothers me to a certain extent but there are other reasons besides " my GOD is better than your GOD " for wars to start if you want to find out more suggest you take classes in " Sociology and War, " Sociology and Religion, " Sociology and Conflict. " which will be of great benefit in understanding. I learned an enormous amount of information in these classes.

Indeed. It's time we learned the difference between impure religion and pure religion; Also the difference between law and grace, which is the difference between two (false/true) Gods.
Friend: I will never leave thee nor forsake thee... Grace
Enmity: I will forsake you, the city, your fathers... Law
Christ is our "peace" who abolished the enmity(law): Eph 2
God in "heaven": "higher than the heavens"... Grace Us
God on "high" in the plural divided "heavens"... Awful Lawful
Pst - be not highminded: Rom11; mind not high things: Rom 12
For high-minded is listed among un-holy things in 2Tim 3: 2-5

Most wars are over a difference of philosophy. Even Hitler and Stalin took their philosophies to their logical conclusions. I do not like the idea of war but at the same time there are things, my faith being one of them, that I am willing to die for.

no it does not because two thing keep coming to mind. Jesus said many would come claiming to be followers of him, and mislead many, Secondly Jesus greatest teaching said to show love to one in another. those who kill in the name of their god, are failing what Jesus taught and are showing what they really are. Jesus healed the man who arrested him, and on the cross forgave those who had done this to him. he never acted with hate or for revenge. true Christians if you follow what the bible teaches have turned their swords into plow shields. and do not practice what the world finds acceptable. those who do are following Mistruths and misrepresentations of gods truth, and not gods truth

Of course. But, that is not your question, is it? You really want to belittle a person of faith because of those events, do you not? And of non-faiths? Wars and atrocities have been fought for centuries over land, power, status...that had nothing to do with faiths or religions

Well, they are going to be killed over something. That is as good a reason as anything else.
