my dear, there is no easy way around this... do whats fair, and tell him (only when he confronts you first!) the truth... If he never comes and talks to you about it, then you don't have to worry about it, it would be mean to just walk up to him and say it when he thinks you might not know, that'd embarrass him... and to be honest, the shy one's are always the best boyfriends... because he's not all about showing off and making everyone notice him, the shy ones know how to treat a woman like an angel, they would rather have you be the star of life than themselves... :) just be gentle about it, but don't lead him on!!

You should at least have a phone conversation with him. Maybe you can find some kind of attraction, thats if he appears to be a nice guy. Sometimes what you want will make you cry and what you need will pass by. But if you really really don't like him just say Hey your a nice guy but I know I'm not into you like that and I don't like wasting people's time. I'm sure he'll appreciate you not wasting his time. There's no telling one day he may become your type. Sometimes you gotta turn the right one into your type. I've learned from experiences.

The best thing is to tell him and tell him quick. Let him know that like him as a friend but there will never be anything there for you and you want him to understand that.
The sooner you tell him the better because he is probably fantasizing about your right now.
Just let him know, it'll hurt at first but then he'll feel better. He'll probably ask why, just make sure he knows it's nothing about him, let him know it's just you.
The longer you wait the more it will hurt him so be a good friend and set him straight early.
Take care... Good luck, he'll probably thank you someday!

No matter what you do, you will break his heart, but explain to him that you value his friendship, and since he is not your type, you would do not want to risk losing his friendship to attempt something more that you are sure would not work out. Its better not to have hard feelings between friends especially in school. Good luck.

A phrase I use is "we are such different people, like night and day" Being upfront is a good thing, but if you don't want to go that route there are ways around it. You can let it get out that you are crushin on this guy (made-up of course) you met over the weekend. Be good!

Whether u want to hurt him or not if he really likes you its gonna hurt him. Nice or not about it. Just be honest and tell him he's a nice guy but you like him as a friend and nothing more. And if he cant accept that than maybe being friends is not a good idea. Go get him tiger

Two options:
1) Lead him on. Flirt with him until he gets brave enough to ask you out and then say you only want to be friends.
2) Kick him square in the balls
Both options will cause him an equal amount of pain.

Tell him with honesty ... diplomacy.
If he's that shy .... chances are he'll never get up the nerve to ask you out anyway.

You say "I'm sorry...but you are not my type." Honesty is always the best way to go. He will appreciate your honesty much more than any patronizing.
