My mom and grandma are Catholic. They cover their heads with scarfs when they go outside.
The idea of modesty for women is not solely restricted to Islam.
If you do a little searching, you'll find that both Jewish and Christian women were covering their hair throughout history. And even now, it still occurs. The style of scarf is different, but the concept is the same.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, and Muslims don't have a monopoly on the practice, I assure you. I'm Muslim, but I was wearing a head-covering before I converted. It's not weird at all.
Look at historical biblical images of the Virgin Mary, and you'll see she is often covering her hair. Women getting married are often veiled. Nuns from certain orders cover their hair. Jewish women wear snoods. Some more conservative Christians cover their hair in church with bonnets or lace cloth.

I think it is great that you are exploring Islam. I also do not think it is is weird for a Christian to wear modest clothing, whether it be a hijab or otherwise. Women of all faiths have covered their hair in the past. In fact, the Bible does tell Christians to dress modestly. If you believe that wearing hijab will help you be more modest, then it is the right thing for you to do.

you fairly have not any impressive to choose and label your chum's family individuals as they are bigot. the actuality is that are impressive in the masking factor. conceal is a could, although extra or much less conceal does no longer nullify one's Islam yet you for sure suggested: "i'd in no way be a muslim if hijab is a could". hear, do you realize what Tawheed potential? It potential 3 issues and once you utter the Shahada, you compromise with the "words and prerequisites of Islam". in case you deny something that's in the Qur'aan, which exchange into revealed by Allah (SWT) by Jibreel and Mohammed (SAWS) then i think of you're able to sit down and picture what do you fairly need. If something particularly tiny like a scarf can tear you different than for Islam then this difficulty is severe and you're able to talk over with an imaam/sheik etc. Hijab meaning conceal is a ingredient of our faith and denying the functionality of the hijab isn't purely no longer large yet very risky and shows the shortcoming of understanding and faith. seek for help until eventually at last you are able to! (I mean until eventually at last you experience you have an pastime in Islam and you're saveable/rescuable)

Some Christian women actually wear headcoverings and dress very modestly. You don't have to be Muslim to do that.
But some other posters had a good point - making your daughters wear headcoverings, or even something as drastic as the hijab will really make them stand out, and it may cause them a lot of discomfort at school, etc. If they get older and choose it, that's one thing. Right now, talk to them about it, but don't make them do it.
Learning about other religions is a good thing, even you if you plan to stay Christian. It's always better to live in knowledge than in ignorance.
Check out this news article about Christian women dressing modestly:

There is nothing wrong about covering your head. Years ago, all Christian women wore head coverings. Some good Chrstian groups still believe women should keep their heads covered in accordance with scripture. (Usually Anabaptist congregations) My wife not only enjoys but believes it is proper to wear scarfs, hats, etc. and long modest dresses.
Perhaps what you are drawn to is the modesty, the submission, the devotion often perceived in Moslem women. Those are qualities that all Christians should have....
you might want to check out my wife's website on modesty:
http://modesty4today.googlepages.com
she has several links to other sites on modesty, too.
god bless!!

In the Bible it is written a woman should cover her head while she is praying to God ,and if she doesn't cover ,her head should be shaven off,
covering head is a modesty in Islam relegion ....u know it is modest.......
simple question suppose two sisters walking in the street one covering her head and the other one wearing a mini skirt ,,the hooligans will tease the girl with a mini skirt ...
remember one thing covering head gives a woman modest feelings, have you seen a picture of virgin mery without a head covering? NO....................

Looong before Islam- catholic women were wearing head scarves. I'm from Southern Sicily and they still wear them there. They are worn by the pious women.
I did not wear one when I was catholic but have worn one since the conversion of Islam. Depending on where you live in the world-- people will probobly think you are Muslim, since the Christian/catholic headscarf is worn mostly in small villages in some european countries only.

Of course not,it's not weird, nuns cover their heads, remember?
Besides Islam is based on good will and treatement, not only covering your body and wearing al hijab.
so if you take anything from my religion you will learn a lot.
It's very similiar to christianity with minors differences.
Curiousity wont kill you,it will only enlighten you and educate you.
