if a cat want to stay on the floor does that make it a dog? a dog is going to do what it wants to do, and it may like being on the top of the couch, besides dogs dont have the mental capasity to ponder their existance, a dog is a dog and will do what is fun.

I think that dogs do this, so that they can be up higher to see things better. I don't believe it has anything to do with cats.
