From my experience, Nikon and Canon are the best brands of digital cameras, especially for the SLR. Olympus is up there to, followed by Sony. Don't get a Kodak unless you are looking for an entry level camera that won't do much.

This all basically boils down to what you want to do with the camera. If you want to take macros (real close up shots) or general run of the mill photos. I myself would go with the Nikon as my first choice, second choice would be the Canon and well that leaves the Kodak camera for last. I chose the Nikon first as I have real good luck with my D60 SLR. You will have to also check to see what you have for Mega pixels on each camera. How big of a card each one can hold and I do not mean in dimensions; capacity of the card.

Nikon is great but in the point-and-shoot market you'd also have to serioursly consider Canon. Nikon and Canon are the Coke and Pepsi of the camera world.

To me, surveys are the key. Anyone can say "I heard this or that" or "my friend says..." But surveys describe the experience of tens of thousands of users.

If your talking about a DSLR go with a Nikon or Canon they have the best glass (Lenses) and the lens is what matters the most followed closely by the sensor. I have the Nikon D200 and love it!

Nikon has their reputation for years. It was the best with the film things... not digital... ( correct me if i'm wrong) I think cannon, sony, kodak are the best. I have a casio, cannon, and sony but the sony camera tends to give me the best pictures.
