exfoliate with baking soda mixed with a little water (make a paste) and don't shave if it's not necessary. Sounds like the hair follicles are clogged. Avoid heavy creams.

Exfoliate with microdermabrasion exfoliator, you can get the one us use for your arms and chest that is made by Loreal at Longs, or Walgreens or Rite Aid. Exfoliate the back of your legs, and arms with that for at least two minutes upto 3 times a week on non consecutive days, if you do it for 3 days straight your skin in that area will become raw and sensative.
Next, if you have to shave, shave, because you've taken off all of the dead skin that would clogg your pores.
After all this is done, get a good moisturiser with AHA in it, what AHA will do is kill any bacteria and any dead skin that causes that bumpiness. You can just use an ordinary face cream (Neutrogena) that has AHA, also it'll exfoliate while it's doing all that killing and de clogging. Only apply the AHA cream in the bumpy areas, follow with ur usual body lotion.
I know it seems like a lot but if you continue to do this for 2 weeks, your going to deffinately see the difference. I know because I do this whole routine myself and my skin in those areas stay smooth now even if I don't do the routine for a week because I've been doing this for 6 months now, eventually it'll just go away. So good luck!!

Stop using regular commercial soaps made with detergents, and use all-natural soaps. Detergents like SLS are too harsh and drying. Then the oils in your skin get trapped under the skin, causing sebum bumps and hyperkeratinization.
Also, use a scrubbie or loofah in the shower, and moisturize right after. Try to avoid lotions that have a high water concentration, that will also be more dehydrating on your skin. If the first ingredient is water, than it is probably too high in water content. I really prefer all-natural products as opposed to chemically made products.

I have your sam eproblem. I tried exfoliating and moisturizing, but no results. I read in one of Diane Ironsbooks that models use AHA creams to get rid of bumps on the back of their arms. I am currently doing that right now.

There is a skin condition called KP, but I don't know what causes it (it's like eczema I think). It causes the little bumps on arms and legs. You should make an appointment with a dermatologist.

I find that it helps to use a micro dermabrasion kit (like one you would use on your face) on those spots. Follow the directions on the box and spot check first of course to make sure you wont get a reaction, but it works great for me! I like the Nuetrogena microdermabrasion 2 step kit best!
