Sports scholarships are awarded by colleges by coaches. If you want to be considered, those coaches need to know about your daughter. If she's got lots of tournament wins then they might already know about her.

Otherwise, you're down to targeting good tennis programs and sending out info / tapes /etc.

For the record, one of the best college tennis programs is at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, which also hosts the Junior Nationals. They are Div III, which means they don't do athletic scholarships -- but them might have other monies for someone who happens to be good at tennis (wink, wink).

Now --

Parent to Parent here -- why are YOU doing this? Isn't your little darling 17 or 18 now? Why isn't SHE the one doing this? If she wants to go to college then SHE needs to be finding the money. This isn't being cruel -- quite the opposite, you're giving her the responsibility to take control of her life and do what is needed to reach her goals. If she's not interested in finding the money, then she's not interested in going to college, and you'll simply waste your money if she goes.

If you know the school where your daughter wants to attend, talk to them first, but if you don't then you can look online to see if there are any there and make sure that even if she doesn't play any sports that you check with your community, because there are lots of scholarships that go unclaimed every year. There are lots of people out there that are willing to give a way money. You just have to be willing to look for it.

only the school she is going to can decide if she is good enough at her sports to win a scholarship from them. however, my highschool offered students who were athletes and had an average above a 90 a cahnce to get a scholarship from tehm. contact your daughers guidance office and ask for lists of scholarships they have. also chekc into different schools' requiremtns for sports. have her keep her grades up, or being a good athlete won't help her any.

That is usually ffered by the school. If she knows what university she wants to attend, contact them about sports scholarships. If she doesnt know, look for colleges that offer those sports on the varsity level. They usually have a scholarship for every sport they offer on that level.

Depends if she is black or white if shes balck it'll be shoe-in regardless of grades we are not really concerned if they get an education as long as we get your money.if shes white she will have to have perfect score and jump feet, unless of course she a genius and we will have to call a presidential conference and talk to congress..Cant let all the smart kids go to college or the Chinese will never get control.
